Roads and gritting
January 18, 2013 in Cemeteries and crematorium, Council services, Gritting updates, Roadworks
The gritting team are again out gritting today. Ploughs are also out and prepared for snow today. The team will be continually gritting as required throughout the day. All Walsall school roads were gritted early this morning.
The cemeteries are also being gritted this morning to ensure that funerals can go ahead today as planned.
The Street Cleansing team have also been out and about in the district centres and Walsall Town Centre.
Stafford Street from the Ring Road to Wisemore Roundabout was resurfaced last night in advance of the severe weather.
All roads seem to be flowing well at the moment.

The gritting team were gritting for 18 hours yesterday. They will be out again today where required. We informed them of the comments raised yesterday.
Traffic was certainly not flowing on Beacon Road today, and not for the first time. It’s time Walsall Council got their act together.
Stafford Street was an absolute nightmare today, especially at the junction with the Proffitt Street, which was also badly effected. No sign of gritters or snow ploughs!
When is Walsall Council going to grit the roads in and around St Matthews Church? This is the second highest point in the borough and already life has become very hazardous for drivers and pedestrians alike/ I can see an accident in the area waiting to happen unless something is done quickly.
After reading your comments on roads and gritting i feel compelled to tell you that the roads are not flowing well and the paths in Walsall town centre going towards St Mathews church have NOT been gritted, please update your site with the truth.
